A rental car in Basic

Searching for courtesy car in Basic? Here is the honest picture from CarmaCars, a Toronto rental company. How it works: A car while yours is off the road, rented by the day or the week. After a collision, your insurer may pay when your adjuster approves the rental, and we can bill them directly. All prices are before tax; the offer shows the total.

What we can do for Basic

We have one location, in Toronto, and none in Basic. The straight-line distance from our location in Toronto to Basic is about 3,242 km, and we deliver within about 250 km.

If you are flying from Toronto to Basic, we can help with a car on the Toronto side of the trip. Tell us in your request that you plan to drive outside Ontario; it needs our written consent. If you need a car in Basic itself, send a request and we will tell you honestly whether we can help. All prices are in Canadian dollars.

Why this works

Rent by the day or the week while yours is repaired, and stop when it is ready. If the claim is not approved, the car's usual rate applies, shown on its page. You can rent again later with the same account and details. The request is free, so you can ask without committing.

Who rents from us

Families who need a bigger car for a trip than the one they own. People waiting on a repair, a claim or a car purchase rent until theirs is back.

How it works

Pick the car and the dates that suit you, then send a request. There is no payment at that point. We review it and reply with an offer that shows the whole price, delivery included when you asked for it. Approve the offer to book the car. That is the moment you pay, not before.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.

What to bring

Drivers need to be 18 or over, holding an Ontario G2 or G licence for the whole rental. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

Every rate includes third-party liability. The car itself needs one of three options: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car shows its deposit, and we take it about 1 hour before pickup. Every driver's licence and identity are checked before we confirm.

One more step

A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
