Where CarmaCars works

CarmaCars works from Toronto. There is no CarmaCars branch in Ruby. Ruby lies about 474 km from central Toronto, well outside our delivery area of about 80 km.

A car from us can make the drive to Ruby; plan the kilometres against the allowance on the car's page. Trips outside Ontario need our written consent. Mention the route in your request. Questions about Ruby? Send a request and a person answers honestly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.

What is different here

Renting month to month means no long commitment and no buyout at the end. Each new agreement keeps the same simple terms as the first. You choose the exact car, not a category with "or similar". We answer questions before you book, not only after.

Who it is for

People whose plans changed and need a car on short notice. People with family in town who need a second car for a while.

Requesting a car

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. We reply with an offer for the car and the dates, priced in full. Pay when you approve, not a minute before.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. A rental of 7 days or longer is priced at the weekly rate. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

Driver basics

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. We need to see the card and the licence of the person renting.

Third-party liability is part of every rate, and damage to the car is handled by OPCF 27, a card benefit or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit is held for every rental, about 1 hour before you get the car. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.
