The useful parts

You deal with a small team that answers the phone and reads every request. Rent by the day, the week or the month, with the same simple request each time. The offer is in writing, so you can check it before you agree. Rent by the day, by the week, or up to 365 days at a time.

Typical renters

Visitors, locals between cars, families on a trip and people who need a second car for a while. People whose plans changed and need a car on short notice.

Before pickup

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.

Booking made plain

Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. A pickup can be as soon as 2 hours after your request, when the car is free.

Next step

When the dates are set, a request gets you a real price.
